Last year as I was planning to repair my front crossmember, I bought a complete set of control arms. I rebuilt those and installed them in the car durning the front suspension rebuild.
I'd thought this winter I'd sell the other set either as is, or beat a set of new bushings and new ball joints in real quick and sell them that way.
So help me, I didn't look real close as I was pulling them out (I was very preoccupied with the cutting and welding yet to do) and missed the fact they have two different shafts in the lowers. The solid one is just like the two currently in the car, the one with the groove is the odd man out.
I'm not at all familier with the different years or types of suspension parts that will cross. It is marked GM, so I don't think it's aftermarket. Can anyone shed a little light? Is this something worth saving, or should I pop it out and trash it?
The one on the left looks like the one that was on my 72 and the one on the right looks like the one from my 79. Think of all the ounces of weight you save with the hollowed shaft and how much better your ETs are!

Yeah, but I'm afraid it'll pull to the right bad from the lightened weight on that side.
Think I'll just pop it off and flip it in the trash and get the proper one to go back on.
Thanks
