The local auto parts store (Advance Auto) is having a deal on 5 Quarts of Mobil 1 with an oil filter for $29.99. For a reason I don't understand, they almost never stock Mobil 1 filters for small blocks. The book lists the correct filter as a M1-111, however, the guy working there says he uses an M1-302. I'm using an M1-111 on my ZZ4 small block, but I'm wondering which Mobil 1 filter would be best to use because the M1-111 is a short filter without a lot of volume.

So, what Mobil 1 filter are you putting on your small block?

M1-302. It is the replacement for the PF-35. The books list it for the trucks with small blocks.

I like having the extra 1/2 quart of oil. Same price for a little piece of mind.

Go with the M1-302 like stated above, it holds more oil and fits fine.
