Default 17/16'' rear/front wheels setup?

I've seen many of you have 18/17 - 18/18 and 17/17 wheels rear/front set up but i've read nothing about 17/16...I have this set up in my tvr and actually it has the advantage of beeing able to fix performant tires but with the extra benefit of keeping a good vintage stance with not so high rims...Any pic of a vette out there?

For example in the above 17/16'' dia, there is this wheel (american racing's trackstar S) that would look pretty mean in the sizes 17x11 and 16x9.5...(with flares)

Don't see why not but wouldn't you want to get at least a 17" in the front so you can get decent size brakes if you want? Anything over 12" brakes start getting tight with less than 17" rims.

Well, actually with only 2.775lbs of weight i really dont need bigger brakes, my braking is superb as it is (drilled rotors and willwood lightweight caliper all round plus the unbelievable good hydroboost to match).

Then go for it I think it'll look good AND sorta maintain the vintage look. I don't think much more than 17's can keep the "look" also I think you can get some decent slicks in 17".
