Back up light switch
I have a 73 with a 350 190hp engine, when I bought the car there was no reverse light bulbs installed after putting them in the lights stayed on constantly, I have been told the switch is on the trans, on the sterring coluum and under the console, does anyone know where this darn thing is

If it's an auto, your neutral safety switch is either broken or needs some adjustment. To get to it. Unscrew the shifter **** and lift the shifter console out of the way. It is not necessary to mess with the parking brake, but it would be wise to block a wheel, just to be on the safe side. You will have to unscrew the shifter from the floor to get to the nuts that hold the switch in place. If you replace the switch, make sure the new one is wired correctly. I order a switch from RIKS and it wasn't working correctly, two of the wires got crossed in one of the plugs.
