yeah I gotta agree that it all depends on year - I have a '78 - pretty much as fully restified as a daily driver can get with plenty of modern updates - i.e. Tremec TKO - roller cammed motor - lots of high quality work - new paint...new exhaust...new tires and wheels
I tried putting it up for sale last year - started at 15k, couldnt even get people to come and kick the tires - lowered it to 13k for 6 months and not a single bite...Advertised in the statewide classics autotrade - corvette trader and online (including here)- only thing i didnt try was E-bay
Believe me, you cant hold out for a reasonable selling price for what is basicly an undesireable car. I acknowledge that the improvements made - modern trans and upgraded motor effect the bottom line...but it looks like I'm a Corvette owner for awhile longer.
The reason most Corvettes are sold Cheap.....(By definition something of greater value than the price paid for it.) ... Well, should I ever have to consider selling my Rig. It will presented by a Seasoned Sales Professional....to a Targeted Market..... To buyers who "want to own", the Corvette, and not to someone who "might consider owning".
There is alot more to Marketing a Corvette than just putting a "FOR SALE" sign on it!.....One has to "Fish", where the" BIG FISH" are. Know how to "Quailfy a Prospect".....Know when to "Shut-up"....and not "Fold-up" quicker than an inexpensive suit...Know how to "Close A Client". I Guess what I am trying to say is that "Selling Is A Practiced Profession." If you do not have a "trigger" then you can not pull it.

A little research on Ebay and other sites like it showed me that sellers want to make a killing, and buyers want something for nothing (most of the time). The key to success is the rare meeting of two like-minded individuals. If you are selling, as the previous poster mentioned, you have to market correctly. If you are buying, you have to be willing to really, really look. Most of us buy the 1st or 2nd Vette we look at.
I told you!! the prices on project muscle cars is dropping already this car would have brought 4-5 grand this past summer. when the project get cheaper the clean cars usually follow in price. Prices were getting to where average joe could not afford them and when that happens there are way to may for sale and very few around who can afford so supply out ways demand hense the drop!!
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
