I kind of like knowing that I have some crappy old engine that isn't original to my car... that means I don't have to worry about it. If it decides to take a crap on me, I get to put in a more powerful crate.

Heads Casting 3782461 Date code A176 (66 vette 327?)
No idea what the cam is,
Anybody have an idea what it amounts to? (other than a mixed up POS?) Hey, at least it runs decent.
hard to say without pulling the heads but it could be bored out? heads could have been gone through and opened up? could have aftermarket guts forgded pistons etc... its a 327 with ? horse power who cares as long as it runs good??
This is why chevy is the best in my books you can take any small block heads bolt them to any sb and either increase or decrease hp but either way they still run! try that with a ford sb or a mopar???
I feel the same way but don't worry about it! Drive till it dies! It looks great.
My engine is an "omlett" as well. I think the block is from a 75, intake is 69, Q-jet from a 71. Heads aftermarket (don't know what brand) but goes like hell.
BTW what intake manifold is that?
