Hello- I have been chemically stripping the paint off and have run into a section where there has been some previous bodywork. The chem stripper will definitely soften the top layer of the bondo so I have scraped a nice sized layer off the top as shown in these pictures.
My question is : Should I go ahead and remove all of it out of there or is it Ok to leave it in there and just some add more on top of it to replace what I scraped off?
thanks
just sand it...since you have to re feather it all anyways.... i used a hand dewault orbital (round not the square) to hack away the bullshyt on my 77.....
You need to remove "ALL" the filler as it has been contaminated by the stripper at this point. Then make sure you neutralise the stripper with water, and then clean up the glass with acetone or a good quality cleaner. Cleanliness is next to godliness!!!!. Bring the car to bare glass then continue forward from there

take an orbital sander and put on some 36 grit. just stay away from the tops of the fenders. wear a dust mask. it will come off quick. there is always a need for bondo-body filler, but if used properly it is perfectly fine.
