Put the wire set back together like it came from the factory. In my attempt to just touch up the manifolds with hi temp paint...which one thing led to another, I ended up replacing my wires. In order to do it properly on my 1976 I had to actually remove the starter motor and fish them through the motor mounts. What a fricking job its been

I did a set on my brothers '76 and a set on my '72 to factory wiring. I was taught a trick that helped me out tremendously. You remove the boot at the spark plug end from the old wire. You remove the boot from the distributor end of the new wire and tape the two ends together. You push and pull the wires through the same path that they are in until you get to the distributor. Once their, you reattach the boot end for the distributor and you are all set.

It worked great both times.

Good luck,
Dino

I put mine back as close as I could see based on the AIM drawings. Certainly didn't take off a starter. Biggest pain was getting the forward two on the drivers side, had to take a bolt off a bracket to get the two wires between the bracket and the mount.

I've only done my wires once, & to duplicate the way they came from the factory I had to yank the starter. I bought mine new and I just tried to copy the way it came. I had to remove most of the ignition shielding along the way to get the wires right. Putting it back was a real picnic....

Thanks '76 brother...

It's been over 15 years now since I put on the last set & I'm sure it's time for new ones. I think I'm going to go with MSD this time....

Can't wait to do 'em................

That was something that kept me up at night when I did my motor swap. I just couldn't figure out why they'd run them like that. Were you not supposed to change them?

I mean, it was really easy with the whole engine out, but when I put the new one in, it already had the wires on it.

It's easy - just replace them with the engine out.
