Default replace 76 Steering Column w/ ?

Hi Guys, starting my winter project which is my wife's 76 4-speed Corvette which she has owned for 17 years. We have been looking and researching an alternative to the Vega steering wheel and it looks like a column replacement is the way to go so we can go to a wood (maybe a Grant) steering wheel. My questoin is which is easier or better, a 75 or a 77 column?
FYI: we put a GMPP 350/290 HP Crate in last year, has Buckskin Interior, was Bright Green paint (factory) but now white and will be Electron Blue soon, has Keystones and Redlines. It's a great Corvette.
Please go to our club's web site: www.virginiacorvetteclub.com
Past Corvettes: 68 4-speed Convertible, 74 4-speed convertible, 75 Auto Coupe, 92 Auto Convertible, still have a 63 4-speed Convertible.
Thanks and STILL WAVING!
Robert

Saginaw Steering Gear manufactured the actual steering column. Chevrolet designed the steering wheel, horn parts, and the telescope locking lever.

The 1976 T&T steering column is exactly the same as the 1969 through1975 T&T columns. The things that changed in 1976 were the steering wheel, horn parts, and the telescope locking lever.

1977 through 1982 steering wheels, horn parts, and telescope locking parts can be installed on a 1976 T&T column (or the 1969 through 1975 T&T columns.)

These papers can be a big help.
