I have a (2) garage where my wife's car and my toy reside inside now. Its warm, never rains and I have a place to go hide out & play. I 've been considering a car lift to turn the (2) car into a (3) car garage. Was thinking of stacking the vette on top of my daily driver. I've looked at the websites of AC Lift, Mohawk and a couple of others and they all look basically the same and I believe them to be comperable in price. Anyone had any experience - good or otherwise? I would appreciate your commnets.
Thanks, Chuck
My brother in law has been thinking about this also. I was visiting him this past weekend. He did some research and we both liked these . The link has some good lifts and at good prices. They have gotten some good reviews from people here on the forum. They have a location in Newark De. which is only about 2 hrs from you so you could save on the shipping. I have been considering this also getting a 4 post. My garage is a small 2 car and this would certainly help.
i purchased a 4 post lift from greg smith 3 weeks ago and for the price it is well worth it, it was simple to assemble other then the weight of the parts, I shipped it to my shop and brought it home with a rollback and forklift to get it inside the garage, for the price it was a lot more then exspected including the pump and valve assembly
(2) issues as I see it. (1) I have to find out how high my Impala is. Vette w/o antenna is 48 in high. If I can fit it in without raising the vette thru the cieling I think I'll go for it. (2) Also shipping weight for this is 1620 lbs and its 13 ft long x 2 ft wide. If I can get it off the truck, or if the carrier will wait until I piece it off then I'm good to go. Probably contact them next week to see what their "special" price is. Maybe that would cover the freight?
i paid with freight $1850, there are only 8 parts to unload but they are bolted into a cradle at each end, the only really heavy part is the one rail with the cylinder in it. they would not ship it to my house i had to do a bussiness address but you may be willing to stretch the truth a little and give them your home address with a call "ahead before delivery" and have some help on hand to unload it.
I got a ProPark7 from Greg Smith and I have to give a big for them. They shipped super fast and when the carrier trashed it, they sent me another one right away with no hassle at all.
My 13 y/o daughter, two of my friends and I put it together in one evening. Like bt57 mentioned some of the parts are really heavy. Like the tread runners, especially the one with the hydraulic cylinder.
The lift came with three plastic drip trays, a jacking tray and a caster kit for moving it.

I always have large deliveries to the house/garage and have a crew (4-6) helpers standing by to unload. Good excuse to have a beer!! Tell them it's a four-post and you will have them setting it up for you!!
I tell everyone that asks.... get one made in America. If the site does not say, call them and ask... US safety standards are second to none... You have any chinese made tools that have not broken? I sure dont.
I bought a 2 post from Autolifters of America. Couldnt be happier.
Mine is equivalent to the 8000C w/ asymetric arms... but I purchased it before Autolifters of America went under. Excellent quality, and I'd imagine, these are just the same.
I bought a Pro 7 four post lift from Greg Smith in Delaware. I used a car trailer to pick it up. A friend and amotor lifter helped to put it together. It made by Direct Lift designed here and built in china. Mine is GREAT and Greg Smith's people are very helpful. I also bought a hydraulic jack that fits between the runways is also great.
I bought a propark 7 from greg smith equip. about 3 months ago. They told me it was american steel assembled in china. A fortune 500 company called The Dover Corporation that owns Direct Lift also owns Rotary Lifts. Best money i've spent so far.
