I'm 6'4 and I have a C3. I was wondering if anyone has experience with C4 or C5 seats in a C3. Being tall Im concerned about me or the seats fitting in. I saw some on another post at a reasonable price..just wondering

They do sit a little higher than the stock ones. I am using the c3 seat tracks. I'm 5'7" so they fit me fine. I'm sure some of the taller guys will chime in on this.

Just a tip: Removing the pads from the underside of the T-tops will get you almost three full inches of head room. I removed my pads, and painted the raw panels black to match the car. Aside from having no cushion directly above the head it really clears out a lot of room and I'm much happier this way.

I can snap some pics later of what they look like sans pads.

I can take any measurements that might help. Mine are C5 in a '76 with C3 seat tracks. I think the C5's sit a bit lower then the '82 seats I had, but it's been awhile. No idea compared to the original seats. I usually use the one piece Astro top which helps alot also. Let me know if I can help at all.

I have the standard non power C4 seats out of a 1988 mounted on the C3 tracks in my 1980. They do position you up a bit higher than the stock C3 seats but, IMHO, they support you much better while driving.

That would be great, I think that if you could measure from the back of your seat to the bottom of the chrome at the back of the T-top opening, (with the seat as far back as it will go), that would give a pretty reasonable indication of headroom. I measured 35-1/4" with stock 74 seats
This will eliminate differences between different types of T-tops.
I'm slightly tall myself and need to replace my seats as well.

Bruce, measuring from the back of the seat bottom, right up the back of the seat to the roof trim I get 34 1/2". That's with the seat all the way back and the back pretty well on the body behind it. From the seat back to the speedometer bezel bottom, I got 33 1/2". You could check any loss or gain of legroom with that.

Excellent!
I was thinking about how to measure legroom. You nailed it.
Thanks for the info.

I just installed C5 seats in my 72 using the stock seat tracks, and they are a little higher. I am 6'1" and I still have some head room, but not much!
