76 auto console plate A/C reassembly problems
Does anyone have a pic on how the A/C controls and shifter plate attach to the console? Does the A/C control mounting bracket go under or on top of the console? I got this vehicle already stripped and now i am trying to get it back together.
2nd question - does anyone know where i can pick up an aim in the Dallas Ft Worth area for this 76 model?

Should all go on top of the console. Housing assembly, conotrol assembly, then the plate. Should be two tiny screw to fasten teh control unit to the bracket. The bracket is held on with the same screws as the plate, one in each corner of the console indentation. (top).
There are often AIM's on that internet auction site as well. I have one for the '76 if I can be of any help.

The retainer plate #3 in the top picture is placed on top of the console. The screws for the shift console will pass through this retainer! Put the nuts on the console edges, and then slip the retainer plate on top. Then install your a/c heater control assembly with the two screws # 19 in the bottom picture, and finally the shift console plate.
