I bought this 1971 corvette in 1988 and have had it restored by a local corvette guy in PA-It has been garage kept since 91. He has put on all of the parts I bought to restore the car.
He advised me to remove all the paint and everything off the car, then repaint it. He painted the car, and paint job cost $ 4000 back in 1991 and looks nice. I know very little about these cars .The inside has been redone in tan leather. The outside is the original orange color but repainted. The moter and trans was removed and rebuilt (something about the valves and the gas) the car has the best 71 era frame this guy ever saw- he said no accidents. I have had a few and really don't care for the ride. Love the speed but not the low seating.
This is my question???
The car is in PA. I have all the paper work in Florida where I now live, but will be going home to PA at Christmas. I had to pay a lot of storage fees to this guy to get this car back - he wanted to keep it and he knows his corvettes. I figure it must worth some money, or he would not of wanted it.
I belong to a boating sight like this one, and usually you pros know what this stuff is worth. I am sure the market has gotten soft, if it is at all like my boat.
So Where can I find out what it is worth (ball park) Should I sell it in PA.? or - do I bring it to FL.? Please Help.
Thanks - Steve
If the car is done, and correct, start at 20K and go from there. Your add doesnt give alot to go on, but pics and a better description would help? Where is it located in PA. Who did the paint? If its painted correct and looks good, it has to be worth 20k. If you post pics and car is clean, why spend the money to take it to Fla? It will sell either way. Just my opinion. I still am not sure what trans it has in it or how longit has been sitting. Is it a vert or a Coupe? Numbers matching? Docs? This all matters to some.

Does it have a 4 speed? Does it say 425 horsepower or 365 horsepower on th air cleaner lid. If for some odd reason it's the 425hp it is an LS6 which is very rare and is worth $100,000+ Proteam has a nice orange 71 LS6 on sale for $129,000.
They were originally asking $169,000. I doubt your's is an LS6, but you never know. 1971 was the only year the LS6 454 was available. Regardless your car should worth at least $25,000 especially if it's a 4 speed.

Thank you
but the first thing ill look at is the air cleaner lid
I would take it to Florida with you. Then take it to the NCRS winter meet at Kissimmee. Put it in the corral and even if you don't sell it you will know what it is worth. Great bunch of guys, and some very good advice!
you don't have a price on the car so I'm moving it to General section....once you've established a selling price, then you can post in the classifieds.
i live near allentown, in scranton pa. i recently bought a 72 auto that is in excellent cond. with new interior paint and like new underneath. also 454, coupe. i paid 30k. car was from bowling green ky. i feel i got a good deal. i was offered 33k ist week i had it. if your car is in near this shape i wouldnt take less than 30k. these c3c with the 454s are only going to go up in value . there said to be the next 60s.
