I'm confused about chrome valve cover identification. I have a 69 427 non-power brake with chrome valve covers w/o the crushed rear so rather than rechrome I bought a new set. My problem is - the ones on my car (and these may not be stock) do not have the crushed down rear corner which I assume is for power brakes. The new ones, supposedly correct, have the crushed corner. I'm looking at three corvette catalogs and they don't seem to agree. One says ALL the 68-74 427 original covers came with the crushed down rear, another says this was only thru early 68, etc.
Were chrome covers ever standard on a 69?
Did they all have the rear crushed for power brakes?
