need help on muffler replacement
we just got a 74 conv and it has straight thru exhaust on it, no mufflers, but it goes clear to the rear with the tips onit, it has2.5" pipe size and i'm wanting to buy stock mufflers and want to know if i can just cut the existing pipe to fit the muffler on it without buying new exhaust piping. may be asking a lot more questions since this is our first vette. thanks

So long as the outside diameter of the pipe matches the inside diameter of the muffler inlets you're good to go. You can clamp them on, or have a friend weld them. Then a pair of tips and you're good to go.
Stop by any local muffler shop and they will show you through the whole thing.
