i guesso... is there any reason some one wouldn't want a *new* interior instead of a repaired/reupholstered interior... of course besides the purist matching numbers people.... pretty much im asking would it be a big deal if i put in brand new interior and sold it? will the buyers be discouraged by the non-original interior

Ah. I guess that would depend on the rest of the car. If it was super-original and unmolested, it might turn some buyers off. If it was a normal driver, then the new interior would be good. If it was an older restoration in otherwise nice shape, it would really help the sale.

It wouldn't discourage me... As a matter of fact thats exactly what I am going to do with my project car.
Should it devalue your car or turn buyers off? no (however, there might be a few that would) My carpet in my DD is the original 34 yr old carpet. It has just started to tear in the usual places. I will almost assure you that most C3's don't have the original carpet and original seats covers. 30yrs. of use has its toll on things.
Someone correct me if I am wrong. You could rebuild a vette and still get top flight even if the whole car is assmebled with reproduction parts as long as the vehicle looks like it did when it arrived to the showroom floor.
I think you should do it! The best part of owning one of these is driving it with pride! If your sitting in a car with a crappy interior, that won't happen.
Most people would rather buy a car that they can enjoy and be proud of right away. You'll be doing the next owner a favor and get some bang for your buck!

99% of Corvettes are no longer original anymore, they have had thing's changed or re-done at some point over the years.
My numbers match but it's not original because of headers, cam, interior, wheels etc. I think numbers matching is way overrated unless you have an all original car. There aren't many 30 year old cars that are all original.
