When I bought my 73 the previous owner had redone the interior and the seat belts were just bolted to the floor with no retraction device, I am a newbie vette owner but this dose not seam right, it also has shoulder straps installed but thier is no way to connect the two together, what is the correct set up for this car?
The lap belts were on a retractor mounted under the seat. The flange insert, not the buckle side, had a tab that the shoulder belt hooked to. Sounds like a PO replaced the lap belts somewhere in the past.
My '73 has retractors on the outside lap belt and on the shoulder belt. The lap belt should have a small button that the shoulder belt clips on to. Correct replacements are hard to find and usually expensive.
Andovers has belts in black that will fit stock, but want $$$ for them. http://www.andoauto.com/Corvette1.htm
