Now its true love...
That shpiel helped me convince my wife it was a good idea to spend 8k on a car that to her looked like it should be junked.

[/IMG]The car is a 68 #'s matching 427/390. I did do a little research when looking for the car and thought I would never be able to put a deal together with my ol' lady on a BB because of price.. Well the good lord wanted me to have this car and made it happen..
I started working on it and just like the other cars Ive had it was ok and somewhat fun. When I got deeper into it I started realizing what I really had. I have a BB car with a 4 speed mean azz tranny hooked up to a fully independent rear suspension. And no back seat. Im starting to get the idea that this thing is really different than anything Ive seen.
I pulled the motor:

[/IMG]Cleaned it up, re did the whole front susp

[/IMG]and put the motor back in:

The car today, still needs alot of work.

[/IMG]But what has changed in this story is.. Today was the first time I really drove this freggin ROCKET SHIP.
This is why I am now truly in love. This car was built to run. I ran it up to about 3k let the clutch out somewhat aggressivly and floored it.
UNBELIVABLE!!!!
There's alot of pretty cars out there but there sure aint alot than can run like this. I had a 78 6.6 TA. I thought that was fast... Can you tell Im excited. Thats what Im about and this country's about Horse Power and Im wollerin in it..
Why do you love yours? Looks?. Performance?. Both?

I have always liked my C-3's and have had many cars that perform, however the C-3 is the last no frills seat of the pants driving experiance and a buch of fun
Had some pillar rot that I fixed.

[/IMG]Had transistorized Ign that I sold. Allowed me to buy some more stuff.

Motor sliped right in. No prob.

[/IMG]Cleaned the M21, replaced the fluid and the rear seal.

Been working on the interior. Cleaned it up and have been applying heat shield.

Redid the a arms, ball J's, all rubber, rotors, calipers, etc..

This is what Im shooting for. Although I have a coupe.
My color too:

Me and my friends resting after working on the car.

Im in the Blue shirt.

Back in '82, you could have had like three of those cars for $8500. And you could have been state champions. Just resist the temptation to use one of those "shocking" time machines...

We all love your car! I think the F-250 logo would look good on the fender skirt. It would be the fastest thing that a Ford badge ever rode on!

I remember the first time I took my 68 for a drive, rather than just up and down the driveway. I took it to the station for it's first fill-up, then a cruise around the neighborhood. Didn't go far, the car still needed an alignment, but I still felt like a little kid with a new toy
