need the location of the vin number and the two letter transmission code on a '79 vette with the th-350..thank you

Vin Should Be On The Left Corner Of The Dash.code Is Mx 1

maybe I misunderstand your answer...I am talking about the automatic transmission itself...the car's vin number is stamped someplace on it...the two different codes also stamped on the transmission itself for that year car would be either TB or WB...I need to find out where I can look for them on the transmission itself...thank you

thank you so much Duke...found the date code on the right side of the trans pan, and the factory code on the governor cover...now all I need is where the vin # is stamped on the transmission

Final eight digits of the VIN are stamped into the case on the drivers side flange adjacent to the oil pan.
