Awesome work. I am envious as well. I would rather have a corvette or in your case several, have the knowledge to and get to work on them, than have all the money in the world and no taste. Lots of potential with that ride! I am sure you will amaze us.

Nice work, I see a nice collection of cars in there.
That a nice yellow/white camaro with the high rise hood?

Came in this morning, sanded the rest of the body down to bare glass,(dust everywhere including camera lens) shaped rear edge of deck,
fixed the "BIRD BATH" on the back of the rear deck that was caused by a lousy older repair (some people shouldnt touch corvettes),and then had enough time to set up and glue the rear pan on. I use Corvette Image restoration pigmented putty for these cars. After the initial gluing and after the glue has dried, you have to heat up the glue for it to cure properly. (Failure to do this will result in a nasty surprise the first time you take your freshly painted car out on a hot day)

It looks like something now.(well, it is a whole half car.)
Tomorrow, I will repair the quarter panels(rear bottom) and start fitting my rear flares after I install my giant tires on the car for reference. I decided to repair the quarters instead of replacing them since I didnt want to install new panels and then cut them for flares.Plus I can repair them properly without them looking like "Charlie Brown "did them.

So far not bad for 3 days worth of work since I got the car. Remember this car needs to get done completely including the frame off by April (or so I wish). More pics this weekend.

That's what I love about C3's. You can see a work in progress in a shop....all full of bondo dust...and you still ogle over the lines and think what a hot car that will be when it's done.

The tires are MT indy profile N50's. No new stuff for me .All my cars get old school tires. this car will be wide! For wheels I always use minilites.

And AC, I always do the same thing as i build a car. Oogle, and think of what my end result is going to be. (I can already picture this one somewhat). Think Corning with a little twist. Or maybe????Hmmmmm

The suspension is going to be beefed up ,but I am not looking to make it "EXACT" To anything since this will be a street car, as all the cars I will be building.
EX: race cars had their frames fully welded and gusseted. This one wont be. The welded in roll cage will be plenty enough for the street .(now if someone specified other wise.it would be a different story) The beauty of these cars is that they look, feel ,sound and act the part, but are street cars anyone can enjoy on the street. They are a happy compromise. As a result the the money goes where it will do the most good for a street application and the owners preferences, in this case mine!!!

So,I went into work this morning, and here is what I did:
First I installed my new wheels and tires so I can fit my flares properly.
Then, i fitted the flares, Cut the quarters, Trimmed the edges( I DIDNT BOTHER POSTING FINAL TRIMMING PICS), Then glued the flares.
OH YEAH BABY!!!! Its starting to take shape now.If you have vision, you can kind of tell what it will look like finished. I cant wait to roast those tires off the rims. Tomorrow I will pull the screws, Bake the glue and start the finishing body work on the flares and the tail pan. (then I get to fix the lower rear quarters .I will have another update real soon.(maybe tomorrow night)

You know, I never measured them. They are factory L88 flares. (at least made from the GM molds)
