I am going to be installing an 200r-4 tranny in my car. I will be using a 3.73 gear ratio in the differential. The trailing arms have already been rebuilt using the stock arms - I did them myself. Everything was powdercoated, and I didn't realize that I should have relocated the parking brake bracket on top of the arm so that it could accommodate larger tires. This thing is going to have around 400 hp in it, and now I am worried with the combined gear ratio I will be using (real fast acceleration), that I am not going to be able to keep the tires firm on the road. I can't move my parking brake bracket now, or I'll ruin the powdercoat Keeping this in mind, will I have a problem with traction? I forgot to relocate the parking brake bracket, which means Ill have to run a smaller width tire. Its not a race car...just a street machine.
With a weight distribution on 48F/52R and a properly set up suspension, you shouldn't be able to spin your tires too easy.
Rich - I've heard that is not uncommon for a zz502 to produce 520 - 530 HP out of the crate. If you feel brave enough, you could always go with edelbrock's performer RPM top end kit (611HP/579FT-LB).
