Default Does anyone LIKE their Astrotop?

I have fought and fought with my T-tops and I can't get them to seal against wind, let alone rain. I'm considering the astrotop if it has enough decent rubber to seal in the front.

I've researched all the past threads, and it seems folks either love em or hate em.

I'd like to hear from those who like them to find out how they seal. I'm hitting the desperate button.

i've had mine on for around 15yrs and i love mine, specially the extra head room and the way they look. at carshows/cruises it's the 1st comment i hear about and everybody wants to touch it . as for sealing i didn't notice any difference from the original Ttops.

seals just as decent as the t-tops....and you can't beat the look vs. price over a pair of factory style tops.

Ok, sorry but here come the ignorant again :o
Does the astro fit 72s (cars before the eggshell)

Is it possible to put the astro in the "trunk" like I do with T-tops when they are off?

How does it hold up against scratches?

have had mine on for 15-20 years I like them
I put foam inside the weather strip to make it somewhat firm
it really helped seal the side windows

Wow!! This is the first thread I have read that has all positive and no negatives about that piece of junk, that I put on my Vette and then took it off and sold it on Ebay for 1/2 of what I paid for it. Unless they have changed the way the thing attaches, it never odes get a great seal.

Run Astro Tops in the archive search, and you will see I am not in the monority here. But it is your car, so ultimately it is your decision.

Thanks for the responses, folks. I'm going to give one a try (they are returnable) and see if it is a better answer than my T-tops.

I’ve had on for a couple of years now and I’m pretty happy with it. I doesn’t seal better or worse than the factory tops. It fits nicely in the back and I think looks much better than factory

so thats what i have on mine huh???

I have a one piece that looks like whats in these pics... that came with my 81.

I dont like the fact that its one piece, and I dont like the way it attaches to the car... i figure the 2 piece would be easier to put on and take off...

I've not any problems with it leaking yet that I know of, but the wind noise pisses me off..

I know its going to be a loud car, but the wind noise just irritates me for some reason, sounds like my windows are cracked EVER SO SLIGHTLY when its not really.

I dont know but we planned on replacing the 2 t-tops anyway since they're both cracked (the car came with the astro top, and the two broken t-tops)

Not worried about snow here.

Hurricanes could be an issue, though.......

I had the 2 piece Astro Tops and they were junk. I sold them and bought Moon Roofs that were glass and you painted the outside edge to match the body and had the same hardware as the stock tops. I liked them alot better and they sealed real good.

Thats what I got after the Astrojunk. Wish I had known they were returnable though. I would not have taken a bath on them on Ebay, selling them to some other sucker....
