Default Black carpet

Does anyone have black carpet in their Vette?

Have the slate grey carpet in my 82 silver and no matter what you do, the carpet gets dirt stained, etc. after a while. Seems like black carpet would not show the dirt and would be "acceptable", even in a silver car/grey interior (part of the dash is black).

But, don't see black as a choice at sites that sell carpet.

Mid America (for one) shows black carpet sets for an '82. $199.

+ , (a hint at keeping the carpet fresh during the ride between the garage and a show or cruise...)

I bought towels. yes, towels. like the ones used after taking a shower. same color as the carpet. be really careful and not let the driver-side-one get all bunched-up under the pedals, but they work great for keeping the carpets clean, and when you get to a destination, just take 'em out and stash 'em outta sight. the carpet is all clean and pleasing to the eye. when they do get dirty, throw 'em in the laundry and start over !

My black carpet is constantly dirty. I can vacuum it and move the car around front, it's dirty... I don't think there is a good answer.

Yeah, there is black carpet. Don't know what I was thinking. Did not do enough research.

Guess the question is changing to black in an otherwise gray interior (spell check likes gray, not grey).

I have an all black interior. So does my wifes Jetta. Cleaned, the black interior looks pimp on both cars. However, it shows all the dust, lint and crud that lands in your car that you normally wouldn't notice on another color.

but, at least it does not show any dark stains or dirt as readily as a light colored C3 carpet. My coupe has black carpet.

I just did it in my '75 that has a silver interior. Didn't like the light gray carpet and thought black might look good, so when I ordered the new carpet, I went for it. I like it.

I have an ecklers aftermarket black carpet, looks great, keeps clean (if vacuum often ), mine is thin and light...(not like the oem one which was too luxury, high, soft and twice heavy)

I have new black carpet in the '81 I just got, so I'll be doing like I did with my '98. I bought 2 seperate sets of floor mats for it. One set for the winter (rainy season) and another set for the summer. It definitely helps keep the actually carpet from getting dirty. Plus I do like the guy who mentioned removing them at any car show etc. (I'd probably go with the black carpet in your car as well......black looks good with almost any color interior)
