I just had to share and I will post a pic later this week.
I was inspired by that 18 year old "Rookie" to finally get off my butt and work on the interior of car. Engines rebuilt, paint is great but I really have hated the red interior.....and sadly it's in really good shape but I couldn't take it anymore....so I am taking the seats out (someone put the bolts in upside down on the drivers side to), every little screw I can and now I'm at the back of the interior and the speakers literally just fall off...as the screws holding the thin metal brackets are only hand tight (solves the mystery of where that noise was coming from) and there I see it....DYNAMAT...I'm thinking life just got better, I really wont have to work very hard to install the new carpet....WRONG...its just a small piece about 1' x 3' and it's ducked taped to the back and to finish out the great job the box it came it was used to finish off the look..not behind the speakers, just centered on the back of the compartment. So half a roll of duck tape, 1'x3' dynamat and cardboard framing The original padding and heat shields are all there, including the rear compartment so I was just chuckling…..
I'm pulling out some of the old stuff that has the brittle black stuff...at least it's brittle now and then I'll redo the entire compartment with some material from Lowes or Home Depot.
Just a note...ordered from Willcox three days ago....doors, carpet, screws, plastic trim stuff and it's already here!!!
The 18 year old has made a positive impression with me also. I ripped out all of my interior a couple of weeks ago and I am waiting on him to come and reinstall it fore me. Sounds like he is inspiring several of the older guys like me.
Yeah, kudos to that kid and his parents...they've done something right. It's funny to hear him vent sometimes because you can hear the 18 year old come out but one post later and you're talking to a grown up man.
I'm 42 now and I remember when I was 17 and saw the 1982 Corvette for the first time and knew I had to have one some day...it took until I was 40. Oh how I wish were 18 and had that setup....I would never leave home and do college by distance learning at night time

It's Stinger 12 (Thanks BRDD). He's rebuilding a 80ish or earlier model bolt by bolt......and not going the easy route, literally rebuilding, powdercoating, and performing some voodoo on local friends that think he's wasting him time.
That's the kicker for me that some of the bystanders are questioning his project. No matter what, he's going to learn an amazing amount of things that no other 18 year is going to get. Character, persistence, patience, determination, pride, etc...and I could go on....and have one kick *** Corvette to boot.

That's Jeremy (stinger12) in Alberta, Canada. He's 18. His car is a blue coupe (73?). Find his threads. His efforts are amazing. I'm 55 years old and I am learning from this guy every day. He's really earning respect fast.
