Default Input splines for '71

So I'm sitting here at work thinking I am going to order a clutch for the new engine I'm building and I realize I don't know how many splines are on the Muncie's input shaft. My car is a '71 with an L48 350 and the original Muncie 4-speed. Most of the parts places, ie Napa, give me a choice of a 10 spline or 26 spline. I'm guessing I am going to have to wait until I get home, but if anyone knows for sure, it would be nice to get it ordered now.

The 71 cars is when they changed from the 10 to 26 spline. It depends on when your car was made. I do not know when the break off was from 10 to 26 but sometime in 71. That does not help much for you.

Actually that does help, since now I know I don't have to worry about getting it ordered today. Thanks.

The 1970 model was the last to use Muncie 10 spline (often called course spline) 1971 models received the new 26 spline (often referred to as fine spline).
