Well I've officially jumped off the cliff now...what started as a carpet change (wanted to go from Red to Black) has now turned into a complete interior redo (thanks Yankee031 and the Canadian Kid, I hate you both for motivating me). So $3,000 later the carpet, door, dash, plastics, stereo, amp, subs, etc., are all on there way here...some already arrived in less then 3 days from WILLCOX.
Anyways, I hate the stock seats and would like something nicer. If I'm dropping a grand on seats, I don't want it to be on the stock ones.
I'm 6'5", 240, 37-38" waist, normally buy 34-36" length jeans. I offer that information to get some comparison from others about seat height and comfort. I have about an inch of clearance now with glass tops.
I like the look of the A4 but the comfort of the GTSII looks pretty inviting. I don't cruise too far but I don't want to be miserable in a seat that is too firm. So, would the A4 still be comfy enough, if so should I go with the wide version? If not, will the GTSII just be a better choice?
I have read and searched all the previous threads, just trying to get some current feedback. Thanks
PS Thanks Durango-Boy - I ordered an all Kenwood setup based upon your many posts on 2 6.5" speakers in the front panels and a sub in the back. Went with a 12" sub and still need to pick a box but pretty much following your gameplan.
I have the A4's in my car and their a snug fit for me, I'm 6', 190lbs. I had to make custom brackets to lower the seat enough so I could drive with the t-tops on, otherwise my head was hitting it. I've attached a picture of mine, these are the narrow version, and they touch the center console on the inside and touch the door on the outside. You may want to consider c4 or c5 seats. Also, find the local Corbeau dealer and sit in their demo seats to see if you like the fit.
I do have the inserts in and I purchased the seats through a local Corbeau dealer. The shaved seats would definitely allow for a much lower position in the car, at 6'4 it might still be tight. The shoulder might be a tight fit too.

Glad I could help. Please let me know if you need any more help.
Well I found a great price on some C5 (Z06) seats off of eBay so I went with them.
I realize there's an issue of being too high using the C5 brackets and the preferred method is to use the C3 brackets.
Has anyone used the SpeedDirect brackets? I would assume they could be used with or without sliders, with little modification? I looked at the SpeedDirect site and they do not appear to sell them.
I used the stock C3 brackets on my C5 seats. I did not use the holes in the C5 seats I drilled my own to match the track width of the C3 tracks. They sit slightly higher than the stock seats. The tracks were a little difficult to mount but it was well worth it. If you are the only driver you can make a set of solid brackets and set it to whatever height you need.
