Is there some way to find out the original dealer who sold your car.

I think the old window stickers and invoices would for sure...but I'm not sure about anything else.

If you have the zone and dealer code from your tank sticker you can try and look it up on the NCRS web site. If it's not in their database, there is a NCRS member who trades that information for a copy of your tank sticker if you are an NCRS member.

Mine was not in the NCRS database so I joined for $35 and posted my request on the NCRS tech board and was contacted within minutes.

The Tank Sticker would have the dealer code as a number can this be related to the dealer.

Default Vehicle dealer info

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house the question as to where was our Vette first sold was being asked once again. Yes, there is a Santa Claus! We went after a copy of the GM invoice for our '78 pace car.
For '77 up Chevrolets you can request a copy of the vehicle invoice via a company named Allied Vaughn.

It costs $50

Allied Vaughn
11923 Brookfield
Livonia, MI 48150
You can call 734-421-0273, Fax 734-261-5216
email : vehicleinvoice@gmmediaarchive.com
I think I called to get our request going. It's pretty quick.
Dealer info and other info is listed on the invoice.
Merry Christmas

It was on my tank sticker. Sorry this picture doesn't show it completely but it's in the lower left corner.

Bummer mines a 76, look like its time to drop the tank. I been wanting to do this anyway. Its like opening a pack of baseball cards. You never know what you'll find. Mines unmolested so it should be there.

Try this:

http://www.window-sticker.com/

I ordered a window sticker for my 69 and these guys were able identify my original dealer from my vin number...they have a data base of this info and maybe yours is in there...
