Installed a set of C5 rims and tires on my '68 Chevy Van using 2" spacer adapters. I installed longer studs, but stayed with the 7/16". The adapters have their own 12mm studs to mount the rims. They work great. My confidence level in them grows the more I drive. Done a few crazy all out burnouts, and went sideways in second, and nothing broke yet.
Tip: After 50 miles of driving, pull all four wheels, and check the torque on the lug nuts holding the adapters to the hubs. The adapters can 'settle' a bit leaving the lug nuts less than perfectly torqued down.
Just pull the wheel, check the torque, and tighten if any have loosened. It's a good safeguard against a wheel falling off.
