I have gone thru the threads on compressors and not found a simple
answer. What kind of compressor and tools do I need to - take lug
nuts off, inflate tires, general shop use. HP, gallon, CFM??
Thanks. Peter
Unless you're gonna be rocking a paint gun, DA, cutoff, nibbler...yata yata...you won't need anything huge. For air guns and small air tools, a compressor like this will work fine.
If you ever think you'll be needing more air and have the room, go with the bigger ones. Just make sure if you get a 220 that you have the proper plug.
The big ones are kind of overkill if all you use it for is airing tires and the occasional air gin and air ratchet use.
Simple rule on this is get the biggest one you can afford and have space for if your going to do much wrenching. The one DB posted has the same garage floor footprint as my 5hp 60 gallon Black Max. Mine kicks on and off even when I am sandblasting, which means it stays up with maximum demmand.
