The trim tag in the driver side door jamb, has the interior and exteriors colors as well as a code that is the final assembly date.

That's a cool tool.

Mine was born October 21st, 1976. She's a fall baby.

It's neat because the numbers of my heads shows its like from a 67-68 vette. I'm thinking what the heck is going on. But my block number is Nov, 12 and the Birthday of the vette is Dec.12. So this made sense now. My vette is an early bird. Neat. Tony

Use the trim tag date code plus one working day for the date the car came off the assembly line. The trim tag date code is for the completion of the body, not the completion of the car.

Mine's Feb. 25,1977, still considered an early '77.

There are weekends, holidays, etc. that would interrupt the chassis meeting the body but this is the closest you will get.

My transmission was built on April 21, and trim tag shows May 15.
The birthday chart shows April 25th. Close but no cigar.

Calculator shows April 12, yet my trim tag is I13. My VIN is 14491. I look at it as having its birthday just before taxes were due. May never know exactly which day though. At our age maybe close is good enough?

The vin to my project is 402527 and the calc. says June 17, 1972, but the body says Sept. something ( I don't remember).
