Default New Brake Lines

I want to replace all the brake lines and proportioning valve on my 77 coupe. All new stainless prebent pieces. Someone told me that it is almost impossible to do this without raising the body? I hope this is not true as I am not setup to do that.
I have a flare tool and could cut the long lines if I had to and put a splice but that is the last thing that I want to do.

Just trying to get some advice before I need it....next weekend.

Not too hard if your transmission crossmember is removable. Did my brake and fuel lines last summer. You have to cut the main fuel line but not the brake lines.

It can be done without removing the x-member, atleast I did it on my '75.

You just have to be careful to not undo too many of the prebends.

The clip under the seatbelt retractor was a pain and getting it up through the kickup was tough.

I replaced mine with pre-bent S/S and did not have to remove or lift anything. I did have to bend them some to get to rear calipers (through the "kick up" as wjsullivan said). I'm sure it's a whole lot easier to do with the body off, but it's not required. Just take your time and go easy bending the tubes as to not put a crimp into them.

The only "gotcha" I found was the need to use a 1/4" drive socket clamped tightly in a pair of vice grips to get some of the screws out and back in.
