Default EGR valve

I have a 73 and in need of a new egr valve, I am going to replace my Intake manifold with an aluminum edlebrock 1701 performer, are these egr valves interchangable 74 fit on a 73 etc, etc, if so does anyone have a good link?

Egr valves are year specific and based on drive train option. Some were carry over years but not all.

EGR puts exhaust back to the intake side to reduce the amount of oxygen in the charge. it keeps detonation down due to the emissions tune being extremely lean. it's only necessary when running a stock cam/tune. it all seems very counter productive to me and my 2005 V8 didn't even come new with EGR. i agree with the other posters to let it go to extinction, especially if you have an aftermarket cam.

ps.... can you imagine being the engineer in that early 1970's meeting with the top brass explaining how it makes since to lower the oxygen content in a corvette engine for the sake of the environment?

1973 and 1974 EGR valves are interchangeable for the most part. Same configuration, style and hold down clamp. Difference is not in appearance, but in specific application--4 speed vs auto, SB vs. BB, etc.

mines just looking like bad on my valve cover, its been plugged since i got the car. i also havent gotton it inspected yet, maybe this week, probably not though. I just got an msd distributor with a 50k volt coil to burn off everything in the chamber. nothing left to recycle back into the manifold.
