Default sidepipe use rocker moulding?

I am trying to put a 69 back together and have a question as to if the side pipe cars use rocker moulding along with the side pipe insulators, or only the side pipe insulators? In the assembly manual it appears that only the insulators are used, but it looks like something is missing. Any help will be appreciated.

I thought that you were supposed to use the rocker moulding as I've read that it is awkward to put back in. Many slide it forward from the rear wheeel. Having said this, the picture from the 70 AIM doesn't show it

For '69 original side pipes the rocker's are removed. Using Hooker side Mounts, the rocker's are used but trimmed.
