That's funny...I just got my first vette for my 10th anniversary. I was thinking ahead though and made sure I purchased jewelry that cost just a little more than the vette did. You can never be too safe.

As for reaching the pedals, with new seat back foam (again, adding an inch or two), my seat tracks have enough fore/aft adjustment for her to reach with no problem.

Just some ideas if you're not 100% sold on a seat swap.

Welcome to the forum, and don't forget to POST PICS!!

I agree with the extra padding providing more height and push forward.
Is it possible to get new slides that are longer that the seat can slide on?
JUST ASKING????

Maybe a new base from another car????
Seats themselves shouldnt have to be replaced to get a new base?

you have to use a image hosting site such as imageshack or something. You upload your photo and then copy the url (hotlink for forums) onto your post

Here is what we did with my stereo system... SPeakers in the kick panels and a 10in sub in the rear with a 300w amp.
I can still fit my ttops in the car with the sub box.

Good luck.. Let me know if you need anything.

Welcome!

Great presentQ My wife just bought me a 1973 to drive while I am restoring the 1982, then I can drive the 1982 while I am restorodding the 1973.

You might consider 1979 to 1982 seats for the car. The seats in the 82 are about 3" higher than the 1973 cushions.

I agree that you should do one thing at a time, and keep the car on the street as much as possible so you don't get discouraged.

To be perfectly honest, a good set of front speakers, a good modern head unit, and preferably an amp...will be PLENTY of quality sound. Adding rear speakers in a small cabin car like a C3 can hurt the stage set by the front speakers and actually make things worse.

A nice set of 6.5" coaxial speakers in the kicks is simple, effective, and not expensive.

Thanks George, but you did the install yourself and did a fantastic job. Credit goes to you, I just helped suggest the menu.
