Please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere, but can someone help me with how to adjust my hood release.
At this point, I have to yank on the hood release and actually push the handle back to its' original position. Also, when hood releases it doesn't release all at once. It releases first on the driver's side, then the passenger's side. Seems to have a lot of slack in the cable as well.
Again, sorry if this yet another post on hood release problems.
return spring on the cable is broke. Mine does the same thing. To adjust the one side popping and then the other you have to adjust the middle cable between the latches. The one on the right should have a bunch of holes in it. Remove the cotter key on the pin (really small) and adjust from there.
where the release cable from the handle attaches to the drivers side latch... loosen the set screw in the little round barrel cable stop and slide it down the cable some and retighten the set screw
L82 Shark - did you replace the hood release handle assembly, or just readjust the cables?
Thanks again.
I replaced the intermediate cable (between the two latches) for now. From the condition it was in I know I need to replace the hood release. For now I still push the hood release opener in after I open it. Going to replace it when I replace the dash before it breaks or something. Right now trying to get the rear end back together and in the car.
