Default Trans line Help Needed (Pic)

I bought a new set of ss lines from In-Line Tube but they do not match up with what I took off.

Please take a look at the pick, it looks like the old ones were spliced and the portion going into the radiator is a positive screw-in type. The new ones stop short and it looks like a rubber line needs to be added to continue them to the radiator. If so, I probably need to find a nipple or something that stick out of the radiator and downward to the new lines, right?

If anyone has any pics of thier routing, I would greatly appreciate it! Man am I glad I've been keeping the old parts as I go...

Same on my 81 and 73. i believe that it should not be hard line all the way to the rad. there should be a short (6 inch) piece of tubing separating the rad and the end of the hard tubing.

Same on my 78. Believe it so that vibration and twisting doesnt rip or crack the steel line. The rubber allows it to flex a little.

The ones that go on the rad are just very short tubes with a bead on the open end just like the ends on the new ones you got.

Thanks!

I wonder why they didn't give me the other tubes coming out of the radiator.

I've found that most catalogs list the two adapters for the radiator seperately from the main lines.

My '69 also has the short rubber sections.

When I replaced mine, I just went to my local APCO and bought straight tubing and bent it myself. I already had a tube bender from previous jobs, so this was a "cost effective" solution for me. I just used the old tubes as guides to bend the new tubes. Also, I think I just re-used the short pieces that screw into the radiator. Unless they are just really buggered up, they can be easily cleaned since they are so short.

Why do you think someone would plum those lines in solid? No wonder I had leaks all over the place.
