Tire Rubbage?
OK, I just removed my slotted aluminum wheels from my 75, and installed a set of rallys that I bought, the marking in the rims are 8 AZ. I reused the tires and they are 15 225 70. For some reason, I now have tire rub in the front when turning. I am thinking maybe its the backspacing on the rims. Does anyone know what AZ stands for, and is there a way to find out the backspacing from those letters. Also is the tire size I have, a stock tire size. I need new tires anyway, what size do you think I should get. Thanks

AZ is the correct rally wheel for C3 corvettes, I never remember, but I think it is a 4" backspacing.
The 225/70/15 is a little larger than stock for certain years; 215/70/15 is the closest equivalent.
I wonder if your front springs are tired, causing the rubbing, because people often run 225/70s.
You might want to consider smaller diameter tires for the front, to alleviate the rubbing and to give the car more rake.
something like 205/65/15 front and 235/60 rear.
