Sidepipe Header Installation Question
Hi folks
the installation instructions with my hooker sidepipe headers says I need to get the car 3 feet off the ground in order to install. Has anyone else done this? Do you really have to get it that high? I have drive on lift so it looks like a lot of blocking - not very excited about that.
Suggestions?

No you do not need 3 feet. I have done this on jack stands many times and probably have less than 2 feet. 3 feet would be nice but not needed. I just installed a lift so I have plenty of clearance now.

No you do not. I lifted mine maybe 2' I installed the headers by myself. It took me all day. The hardest part was lifting the header from the collector ( used a small lift) to get it to line up with the cyl. head ports.
If I had a buddy helping could have cut the time in 1/2. Buy some high quality gaskets.
I had headers on the car with true dual 2.5" exhaust and 2 high flow cats and mufflers.
The engine is a built 355 with Dart Sportsman Alloy Heads, Roller Comp Cam and Kit.
Once the Hookers Sidepipes were installed it felt as though I woke up a sleeping giant. Car ran cooler, and was so much faster and response improved also.
