Hey all... Anyone good at troubleshooting a p/w issue?
Just had the cable to the pass side vent replaced and a mouse nest cleaned out. Apparently the nest had been there for a while and someone prior to me tried to force the vent open, breaking the cable.
Anyway... since the car is back to me, the pass side p/w will not go down. I pulled the cover off of the center console to check the wire attachment to the switch, and it seems ok. I get no draw from the battery at all when the switch is used. Is it more likely that a wire was accidently damaged or loosened behind the pass side dash during the cable replacement, or is it just coincidence that the window motor is kaput? Any easy way to diagnose the problem?
Check for a broken wire in the conduit that goes out to the door itself, you mighta disturbed it enough while the vent cable was being fixed. Good Luck, Peace,,,Moosie
Do the lights dim at all when going in each direction with the switch. Try this in the dark. I had a switch that was not working in the down position. I thought it was the motor. I noticed though the lights dimmed in the car when I tired to open the window further when it was already up all the way, but no dimming when trying the other way. Viola! Bad switch.
