Default insulation for c3

well i have seen some other threads on insulation for the interior. so my question is do go buy the insulation kits from ecklers, corvette america or lowe's is it the same stuff. and will it do the job the same as insulation for the car. I am replacing all the carpet in the car will it work under the new carpet or will i have more trouble then its worth. also i have bought dye paint for the interior trim and have heard that it fade's out in just a couple of weeks any thoughts on dye or replacement $$$ scott.

I want to do exaclty the same thing in mine. I've got a new interior kit from Wilcox and I was wondering about insulation and dye kits.

I want to go from faded blue to black.

Anyone??????

I put down a single layer of refletix (the stuff from Lowes) and a double layer against the bottom of the firewall. I forgot about the transmission hump the first time and I could literally feel the difference between the insulated and uninsulated areas. I went back and put a layer down over the transmission hump and I don't have any complaints about it.

Dynamat makes some sound deadener and heat insulation combo mat if you want to shell out the $$$$.

I've used the expensive and the Lowes type, both are a big improvement. Couldn't tell the difference from one to the other.

Half-way through, Passenger side

Passenger side

Transmission hump, near emergency brake. From the looks of this picture I did put down two layers.

I had some left over… well a lot actually, since I bought the bigger of the two rolls.

T-Tops, I'll put a headliner over them someday. Yes, it actually made an improvement too, considering I don't have any shade to park in.
