Not really but it does lighten it quit a bit, depending on what you are using to lift it with too. I use an engine lift so with the doors off it is pretty easy. A coupe should be fine without any braces, convertibles definately.
If you leave the hinges on the body you only have to remove four bolts from each door and just slide the doors off of the hinges. That is how i did mine and I highly recommend taking them off. You do not need to brace anything. The birdcage is very strong.

Thanks. I have another question, do I have to remove the steering column from inside the car, or do I disconnect it from the engine bay? Any tip would be appreciated. The rest of the job seen easy. what is the hardest thing to do?

I pulled my steering column before the body removal because I was swapping it out for a tilt tele anyway. You can drop the steering box off now (loosen the box and break it loose at the rag joint).
The hardest thing to do was removing all of the mounting bolts
