Default Restoring Seats - Paint Question

I'm restoring my '77 seats with cleaned up frames and foam as well as new covers. I've gotten most of the process down, but I'm not sure what I should paint the springs with? I figure if I use what I use on the frame, it'll just crack the paint and fall away due to flexing.

Anyone know what to paint the springs with?

Brian.

I think you're going to want either plastikote or some form of rubberized paint, since the flexing of the springs would flake off any regular paints or powder coat.

I painted everything including the clam shells themselves with Rustoleum Specialty brank black.. Seems to hold up pretty good.. YMMV..

Thanks. That gave me some ideas I hadn't thought of. I was going to try some rubberized undercoating product that also should be flexible to handle the normal spring movement.

This is why restoration is more of an art than a science
