I live on a gravel road, so the car generally doesn't see rain and the wipers don't see much action. Did need to use them in a heavy fog and after a couple of passes they stopped working. Took the cover of the transmission and found the transistor inside was toast. I am going to buy a new resistor, but have a couple of questions:
1) The transistor was damaged so the colored bands are not all visible. Able to see first two (orange & red) and variance (silver). Not sure about third, looks like it could be black. Anyone verify the resistor colors?
2) Any thoughts on what might have caused to resistor to fail? I'd like to check out any other components that may have caused failure, but do not know where to look.
Went to Murray's (part of umbrella group with Advance AUto) and checked on the part. They had one in stock and it does not include the cover. Looks like it's time to go to radio shack and try replacing the resistor.
