Default Dome Light

Were dome lights an option for the '73 model year? Mine hasn't got a dome light and I'd like to put one in... Digging around for stuff in the passenger compartment without having a flashlight handy is kind of starting to get old.

Thanks guys.

It's in the rear of the passenger compartment, if it doesn't work, and you are replacing the buld, be sure to use a TWO post bulb. a one post bulb will short out the wires and fry your rear wiring harness.

There's also a courtesy light under each side of the dash at the top of the kick panels. When I bought my vette only the drivers courtesy light worked. I pulled the courtesy lens off and when I started to pull the bulb out to replace it, it lit up. Then I jiggled the pass side light and door jam switch and it came on also. All lights come on now, so first check all the bulbs, their connections and the door jam switches.

Rotate the headlight **** all the way to the left until it "clicks" over a slight stop. Standard GM design for many, many years.

I actually cut a hole and put in a light the same as the one in the rear cargo area then spliced into the wiring, I have a early 76 so instead of paying for a new t-bar part I added the light and Im glad I did, it was well worth it , mind you I had the interior gutted at the time so just to do it when the interior is together might be hell !!

I'm the original owner therefore that would have had to be me and I don't remember doing that.

I got a 76L/77 T-bar panel and light base at Carlisle 2 years ago for about $25 and installed it in my 73. Much better lighting now.

I don't know if you have this outlet or are interested in domelights, but there is an led domelight you can buy at www.oznium.com. I forgot to buy it in my last order.

That is what I thought, but that doesn't turn it on. Any ideas?
