This isn't a C3 specific question, but I figured I'd ask in here because this is where all the wrench-heads are.
I was driving my wife's '04 Grand Prix GT (~44k on the clock) around the other day, and I noticed some very very mild pinging on light acceleration. I'm guessing it's carbonized a bit as these engines have a tendency for that, and she drives like a grandma. So I figured I'd try the Seafoam thing out.
My question is what's the best (better) way to address carbonization with this stuff in C3 Gen's opinion? Should I just dump it in the fuel tank or pour it into the brake booster vacuum line? Instructions say you can do either. I'd like to avoid creating a gigantic smoke cloud in my neighborhood, but I guess my neighbors can deal with it.
I poured it straight down the throttle body in my Grand Cherokee. I did smoke the heck out of the neighborhood, but only for a few minutes, no worse than my neihbors burning leaves. It did make a difference too. I used it for the same reason you did, I was getting some pinging. It still pings some, but a lot less than it did.
I would buy 2 cans and use it both ways. It won't hurt a thing and running it thru the fuel system will help get it cleaned out along with the rest of the fuel system. WRO87

I did buy 2 cans. I guess I'll dump it in the tank on her next fillup, and then smoke up the neighborhood after that.
