Stock probably had a snorkel or two. None were round open element from the factory.

I think 14" is a common size to get and they are usually sold in a kit, with the base, lid, and a filter that matches the size.

You'll want to check your hood clearance before buying the filter because the elements come in varying heights.

This pic shows what a drop base air cleaner looks like. It 'drops' the base so when the filter and lit are on it they are not much higher than the carb for when clearance is tight.

A little bit I would assume because of the severe change in direction of air flow.

I replaced my cast iron intake for a higher profile one and new carb. I needed to get a narrower air filter for clearance and a smaller diameter filter as the new carb was set farther back. If you want my old one for $20 shipped, PM me, good luck.
