Default time to pull the engine

Alright I've never pulled an engine but it appears to be fairly simple assuming I've disconnected everything.
? Is it necessary to remove the condenser panel or will the engine clear it?
If it's necessary to remove what is the procedure for removing the coolent and oil?

? There doesn't appear to be any place to attach the lift to?

I did see a lift lug in a publication that bolted in place of the carb, seems like alot of weight to pull using only those bolts.

Any advise is appreciated.

If it is the stock motor, there should be a bracket in the front you can hook onto or you can bolt to intake manofold bolt

There it is in this pic

You will see a clasp buy the dist. That were I pulled from

I'm getting ready to pull my engine tomorrrow and I'll be disconnecting it between the bell housing and the transmission as shown here...

drain the oil at the drain plug. Drain the coolant at the lower rad hose.

I pulled my 454 engine and transmission together.
Get an engine leveler. It has 4 chains to attach to the engine.
When I removed the engine, I took off the intake and used bolts into the heads (where the intake would bolt). When I installed the engine, I bolted the leveler brackets to the front and rear of the engine.

If you unbolt the trans you probably can pull the engine without removing the a/c condensor. You may want to remove the radiator.
I'm assuming you have removed everything that bolts to the front of the engine.

FYI - don't forget to unhook the ground cable from the engine to the frame.

One thing I noticed, you may want to lower those jackstands or remove them completly. You may not find a engine lift that will go high enough to clear the car body unless your using a chain fall.

Good point- and if you have headers, you probably outa remove them first. I was able to get my engine/tranny put back in (connected to each other) all by myself...I was back and forth between the tunnel and the lift several times, but it went well. I just couldn't wait for help to arrive!

I see your lift lugs but there not on my L48. Looks like you did a nice job on your engine though, thanks for the reply!

Wheels will go back on before pulling the engine so I will be able to lower the jack stands.

When I pulled my 79's engine I had to remove the front driver side tire to allow the joist to slide in from the side since it was not long enough to get in from the front.
