Default AC and Heat issues

Hello everyone, I have a 75 Coupe and I have a HVAC issue going on.

I have two things... one the AC doesn't seem to blow any air, if it does its very slight. And whenever I move it to the highest setting the inline fuse blows... i'm not sure if thats the blower or relay causing that.

Now, Just this past weekend I took a drive up in the mountains and the heater wasn't blowing anything. I think there was a little heat close to the vent. Man was that very cold, but hey I got out and had a great run.

So can these two things be one of the same? Any ideas of what I should do to verufy the issue or how would I preceed?

Sounds to me that you may be looking at a new blower motor. I would check it first.

Take a jumper wire and put one end on the power prong on the motor and the other end on the alternator hot lead. If the blower runs fast it is ok.

From what you have said I think your problem is a vacuum. Does the doors change when you move the controler? Will the air come out the floor on the heat setting? Will it come out the defroster on that setting?

The vacuum hose comes through the firewall on the right side between the a/c box and the wiper motor. The vacuum line then branches off and goes to several different places. It goes to a vacuum valve on the back of the heater box which you can't see. It goes to a vacuum valve on the center duct section. It goes to a vacuum valve in the right side kick panel. At your controller on the left side there is a vacuum valve with a master plug where all the hoses come out of and go to the various valves I talked about above.

If any of these hoses are broke, pinched, or off the system will not work. Also on the controller the hot/cold side is a cable. This cable goes to the top of the heater box. Make sure the cable moves free and it moves the shaft at the top of the heater box.

Thanks for the info, I hope to go though those steps this weekend. Is there anything else I should look and try. I think I understand what your asking... one thing the doors changing.... what were you referring to?

Thanks,
