I am installing a one piece front end on a 71 and have a problem. The hood gaps look ok at the front and rear of the hood but there is no gap at all in the middle . I can't figure how to spread the fenders and make them stay. I have not bonded the inner fenders yet. Is this a common problem? I could shave the hood to fit but don't like the idea.
Any good ideas? Thanks

Common w/1-piece front ends. I'm one of the Bubbas who uses drywall screws to hold my front end panels for bonding, you should be able to get enough spread by pulling out in that area, you only need about 1/2 inch total to achieve good gaps.
What brand front end is it, and is your hood actually touching now? Also ,factory hood or not? Also are your wheel houses screwed or clamped in place already?
The inner fenders are not bonded yet. I have screws holding them in place. The front end is what was with the project and the brand name on the front is not legible. The hood is the factory hood. It is odd that the gaps at the front and rear are fine. I have put a jack in the middle and tried to spread them but nothing will hold them apart. The fenders fit the doors and the front gap to the header is good. I just need more room between the fenders. Thanks
