Default 68 Matching numbers

I am trying to run the matching numbers on my 68. I have found and verified all of them except the auto trans number. Can anyone tell me where to find the number?

dougandkay,

You should see a 'credit card' size metal plate with rivet in the center attaching it to the exterior housing. This metal plate will be silk screened with large and small letters. It will also have some stamped in digits also. This gives you the model ID of your TH400 and sequence #.

You will also have a stamped in derivative of your VIN to identify it as belonging to your specific car.

The VIN derivative will be on the driver's side, machined flat plate just above the pan (as shown).

The other poster was also correct about the data plate, it will be on the passenger side. Can be helpful for "matching numbers" IF you have the P.O.P.

Default Thanks All

I just want to thank you all for going to the trouble to help me. I have had my Vett for 5 years but I only recently became associated with the forum. It's so cool to know that when you have a question or problem that people in different states that you will probably never meet come together to help.
